Jacqueline G. Hanks, Ed.S, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage, Family, and Couples therapist in SC. She is a graduate of The University of South Carolina with an advanced Master’s Degree as an Educational Specialist, with a focus in Marriage, Family, and Couples Therapy. Jacqueline enjoys working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
Goals may be to understand and reduce anxiety and depression, cope with life changes, reduce the impact of trauma, foster self-solve, explore and structure enriching life practices, and encourage clients to be the author of their own life. Jacqueline’s therapeutic style is primarly influenced by a family-systems based approach; however she also incorporates modalities such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. A key component to Jacqueline's practice is in her desire to develop an authentic, collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship with clients. She believes that therapy is a safe place for clients to reflect on the past, create peace in the present, and feel hopeful about the future. Jacqueline offers private therapy in the Columbia office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. All appointments are scheduled through the office at Midlands Psychiatric Services. She currently accepts self-pay clients, and she is also accepting BCBS insurance. |
